Rivals to our goal of launching top class multimedia training

Our main focus when launching mediaroots was to match the level of quality set by companies.

We wanted to create video training for products created by multimedia companies such as adobe, apple, autodesk and Microsoft.

With video-based training tutorials the key is to identify the areas that you want to target, for example: audio, 3D animation and design, work for the web or video editing etc.

We developed the concept of core training, with the idea being to teach users how to learn photoshop, or learn flash through a process that we captured using screen capture also known as screencasting. The concept was similar to screencasts online format, but delivered in a DVD based training interface rather than an online learning environment or as some refer it ‘online training’.

Multimedia training enables multimedia learning through self study video lecturials aka tutorials. The online video training format is an area we want to look at further in the future.

Apple software training is a key area that is untapped in terms of multimedia software training or application training as companies don’t see the market as big enough, we want to change that.

what’s in a name?

how did we come up with the name mediaroots?
well obviously it is divided into two logical parts: media and roots / root.

The idea we had was we are teaching media industry products from the roots up. much like grassroots football, we help you work up the divisions as you could put it.

there are ambiguations in the spelling as with many company names. for example, a potential client may search for mediaroutes, media routes, mediaroute or mediaroot.

we are happy with the name though and with naming any business you experience these problems. it should be a simple step but is actually one of the most difficult when starting a new business as you can’t get sick of the name and all your branding will revolve around it. choose a name you wont be sick of hearing in a year’s time!

I got into King’s

Ok. Just to let everyone know, I got into King’s College London to study Computer Science with Business Management.
This is a really exciting development as I will be based right in the very centre of London, I find out where I will be living tomorrow (Waterloo or London Bridge hopefully).

I got AAC in my A-Level results and I hope that others studying for their exams achieved similar success.

Tycoon is back in business

Well at least it has a new regular time slot!
10 on Mondays (or is it 10:30, too hard to remember as they keep changing it!)

But I must say that the new editing is better and at least their making some cash.

Will be interesting from now.

In other news, check out these Bromley Osteopaths.

ITV1 : Tycoon

What a shambles of a TV program this is. I am a big fan of all business related shows, but this one is just really poor. I love the Apprentice, Dragon’s Den etc. But with this show getting a primetime slot, you’d expect it to be good.

As it seems, it’s now been dropped from it’s primetime 9PM position due to poor ratings.

It tries to copy the apprentice too much with classical music and abstract shots of London, but copies it poorly.

The scenes where Peter Jones says ok lets speak on the Pier in 10 minutes have no dramatic effect and are utterly pointless as the position is really bad for filming! Much in comparison to the boardroom scenes in the apprentice, on the pier the people can barely see due to the light and there is the sound of wind whilst trying to record.

2/5 stars, especially low for having it rescheduled.
